Exercise at Work!
Working in an office can be stressful and busy. Getting out for exercise and to grab a healthy meal can be difficult. As summer is coming upon us, we need our bikini bodies ready! Here are my tips to help you be healthy and look good!
Tube, Bus or walk?
When you next go to hop on a bus, or tube, think about it. Could you walk the distance? If you live fairly close by, try speed walking, jogging, or cycling to work instead of driving or taking public transportation. This can also save you money on transport and is a wonderful way to exercise! Remember to wear sensible foot wear. It may be a fashion faux pas but you want your journey to be comfortable.
When taking the tube, why not take the stairs, or walk up the escalator? Get your blood pumping!
Office work can be extremely stressful. An evening glass of wine can be detrimental if you are making it a regular post-work treat! Walk or jog back home. (Exercise, exercise!!) Get home to a nice healthy meal. I promise you, you will feel a thousand times better! It will be hard at the beginning but extremely rewarding.
Do (subtle) exercise workouts at your desk.
I know, I know. If you thought stretching at your desk was awkward. What do desk workouts look like? But researchers have found that even one-minute spurts of exercise throughout the day can be beneficial.
Flex or tighten your abs and hold for 30 seconds. Release, and repeat 10 times.
Squeeze your glutes and hold for 30 seconds. Release, and repeat 10 times.
Buy a hand gripper and use it at your desk to work out your forearms and hands. (Here are some exercises you can do with a hand gripper.)
